beignet french doughnuts

the last time i was at Metropolitan Market in tacoma, i picked up a box of this fun looking mix for french doughnuts. my expectations were low considering: i have never deep fried something, and a box mix for french anything just seems counterintutive. however, after we got the hang of it, we figured out that uniformly cut circles, hot oil and quick hands to pull the doughnut out quickly are the key tips. afterwards, we were left with sugar covered lips, plates and tables. they were scrumptious!
